Northeast Colony
There are only seven current members living in the area designated as the Northeast Colony but there are several applications pending for new members to the Society living here. With the approval of these applications, there is hope to re-ignite this colony’s activities within the NC Society.

History Note:
This area is one of the starting places for English colonists coming to the New World. John White and 116 English colonists were the first English to settle the Outer Banks. On June 22, 1587, the colonists touched down on Hatteras Island, but later considered the dry area unsuitable to establish a colony. Instead of sailing back to England, the settlers sailed the Pamlico Sound searching for a more hospitable place.
